Our Enrico was up to the challenge and adapted to digitalisation quickly and efficiently. Enrico’s approach to the profession of hotel manager is also different to ours… he manages to keep his family life separate from his professional life and this has made him very determined. All Enrico’s projects have a successful outcome and a healthy dose of humility that we really like. We’re extremely proud of Enrico because he is always on the lookout for new, creative solutions in his running of the family business.

„Everything I do is driven by passion“

After attending the Cesare Ritz catering college and getting a degree in Gastronomic Sciences at the University of Parma, I undertook a master’s degree in Hospitality Management at the free University of Bolzano and Cornell University. I began my professional career as a cook and then joined the research and development department of a food company. Now I run the Hotel Union… our family business. I love looking after our guests and staff and I do it to the best of my professional ability. I share my vision and projects for the future with my fellow workers and they appreciate it, working passionately to accomplish them. I think it was my grandfather Eugenio who instilled certain values in me: innovation, efficiency, the environment. I remember when I was a child, I used to go with him to check the boilers and today we are certified for our eco-sustainability!!! He was definitely an inspiration to me… my grandfather also taught me to love where I live and do everything I can to protect and develop it. Mum and Dad also played an important part in my education. Who else could have taught me the art of hospitality if not my own father? Or values such as honesty and sincerity if not my mother? I’m always really busy but that’s the way I like it. I try to do a bit of sport: golf, cycling and cross-country skiing and spend time with my family and friends of course. Nothing beats a great evening with great company!

The team at Hotel Union is very capable and dynamic. I love working in this young, innovative environment which also allows you to grow professionally and offers new possibilities. I think one of the things that makes the Union team so strong is that we share the same values: honesty, professionalism, decency and the knowledge we can always do better. Sometimes work can be pretty intense but I still find time for my leisure activities and my favourite sports… golf, tennis and evenings out with my friends.

This hassle-free and professional way of working also allows me to spend quality time with my family and go hiking in the beautiful Dolomites.

When I look back over the years, I’ve got so many happy memories… it was 1982 when Enrico’s grandfather, Eugenio Comini, took me on as a chambermaid. In all this time I’ve always been enthusiastic about my work and my greatest satisfaction comes from the guests: it’s great when you bump into them in the corridors at the Union and hear how happy they are. I would recommend our hotel to anyone wanting to work in a friendly but prestigious atmosphere because it helps you grow professionally and you can also do what you like in your spare time. For instance, I come to work on my bike along our beautiful cycle path and I love going walking in the mountains.

I’m the youngest member of the Union Team and I started working here about two years ago. After I finished my studies, it was great to be able to put my knowledge of foreign languages into practice and this means I can connect with the guests. It’s easy working at Hotel Union because everyone makes you feel so at home. I can really recommend working in this team, youngsters in particular will find the management style innovative and the hotel is committed to training its workers while still giving them time off. Playing football and evenings with my friends are particularly important to me.
