Since 2017 we have been part of the Cross Country Ski Holidays circuit meaning we are specialists in meeting  the needs of passionate winter sports fans. Our in-house cross-country skiing expert can offer valuable advice, we can provide just the right equipment along with all those little extras that guarantee you an unforgettable, carefree holiday.
We have also won an award from the Cross Country Ski Holidays group in the Nordic Fit category, proof that our hotel provides cross-country skiers with special equipment and facilities, making us one of the best destinations in the Dolomites Tre Cime area for cross-country skiing fans.
Our equipment and facilities are regularly checked using the Q-MTS quality management system. Q-MTS is certified according to the standard DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 by TÜV Austria Cert GmbH which has been designed specifically for holiday premises.

You can always ask us about the conditions on the ski pistes, or ask for advice on the right tours and trails to suit your own abilities and for any maps you may need.
We also take care to feed our sporty guests well, providing lightweight dishes, high-energy afternoon snacks and for those who want them, energising packages.

Events for cross-country ski fans

Every year Dobbiaco plays host to two international events: the Pustertaler Ski Marathon and the marathon Granfondo Dobbiaco-Cortina. Ever since 2003 the annual event Tour de Ski has also been organised for the world's best cross-country skiers. The Nordic Arena is a perfect training ground for both beginners and experts alike and also the starting point for all the trails in the area.

The South Tyrolean holiday region Three Peaks/3 Zinnen in the Dolomites is a top destination for cross-country skiers from December until March. 215 well-groomed, snow-reliable kilometres of cross-country ski trails in the heart of the Dolomiti NordicSki network allow for almost unlimited cross-country skiing pleasure, promising high quality and top service.
Daily grooming, targeted artificial snow-making and the many service stations, which offer equipment hire, professional advice as well as cross-country ski courses with qualified cross-country ski instructors, ensure that cross-country skiers get what they wish for.

The Nordic Arena: a stone's throw from the hotel

Dobbiaco and the Sesto Dolomites, with over 200km of two-lane Nordic skiing pistes, are the best resorts in Alto Adige for lovers of cross-country skiing.
The Hotel Union is ideally located, just a stone's throw from the Nordic Arena, one of whose pistes runs right in front of our hotel, so all you have to do is strap on your skis and walk out the door. Always perfectly prepared, these pistes offer a whole range of options, from less demanding ones for beginners to professional standard FIS compliant racing pistes, with a 100% guarantee of snow to ensure you have the greatest possible fun on skis. The uniquely dramatic landscape of the Sesto Dolomites with its famous three peaks Tre Cime, forms a magnificent backdrop to all your sporting activities.
Around Dobbiaco there are 120km of cross-country ski pistes to choose from and you can use the same ski pass on a total of 200km of pistes using the links to the other pistes in the Tre Cime area.
