Our grandparents Eugenio and Enrica
It was in 1951 that accountant Eugenio Bruno Comini first rented and then bought the Hotel Union in Dobbiaco, transforming this turn-of-the-century building into a sophisticated, state-of-the-art hotel.
Originally from Riva del Garda, Grandpa Eugenio came to Dobbiaco with his wifeEnrica and mother Josephine von Lindeman to follow in his mother's footsteps and become a hotelier.
His strong yet sensitive personality, his farsightedness and love of innovation soon made the Hotel Union the favoured destination for a great many holidaymakers. This vivacious character, with bags of style, a much respected member of the community and tireless organiser, his entrepreneurial drive ably supported by his wife Enrica, equipped the hotel with the very latest facilities: the tennis court, the swimming pool and the tavern that soon became the hot spot for evening entertainment and nightlife and not just for hotel guests.
