Dobbiaco in summertime

If you choose to spend your summer holiday in Dobbiaco, you will enjoy long sun-kissed days during which you can enjoy all sorts of activities. As well as hiking and walks you can play a round of golf at Pustertal Golf Club or go climbing on the climbing walls or tackle one of the vie ferrate which will take you right up to one of the Dolomite peaks.

The Pustertal Golf Club

Golf fanatics can make use of the new golf course at the Pustertal Golf Club in Brunico, just 30 minutes from our hotel, located at the foot of the Plan de Corones peak. This 2,800m, 9-hole, par-34 golf course has been created with particular care to integrate it into the surrounding landscape. The holes follow and enhance the natural lay of the land with part of the course in woodland, part in open fields and part of it in a reed bed.
The new club house has changing rooms which guests can use, a little pro shop and a restaurant where you can sample the delicious dishes of chef Markus Steger. Next to the club house is a practice area with a driving range, chipping green, practice bunker and two putting greens.
Enrico, a golf fanatic for many years, will be delighted to take you to the Pustertal Golf Club to spend a day with you playing golf in delightful, relaxing surroundings.
You can benefit from a 20% discount on the green fee and have a free trial with a pro.

Reaching ever higher, right to the peak

The vie ferrate are an excellent way of exploring the Tre Cime area, drinking in all its beauty from on high. You can enjoy an outing on these trails equipped with  ropes, metal cables, ladders and suspended bridges enabling you to climb up vertical rock walls to reach a mountain peak.
You will find vie ferrate with different degrees of difficulty suitable for expert and less expert climbers alike.
In the numerous indoor and outdoor rock gyms you can do some training and improve your technique to make you ready to face up to new challenges.

The Nordic Arena rock gym

Just a stone's throw from the hotel, in the Nordic Arena, there is a rock gym with walls 23m high, 80  climbing routes up to 28m, graded for difficulty from 4b to 9a, and a boulder room. Open every day, the gym is the ideal place for training or to practice climbing on days when the weather prevents outdoor excursions.

Torre di Toblin (2,627 metres)

To be able to tackle this via ferrata you will need a well-trained physique, climbing experience, strength and not have an aversion to heights. In order to reach the via ferrata you have to take on a long uphill stretch up to the Antonio Locatelli Refuge, at 2,450 metres above sea level. From here you take on steep sets of iron steps until you reach the cross marking the summit of Torre di Toblin (the Toblin Tower). Once you reach the top you will enjoy a wonderful view of the Dolomite peaks and the Tre Cime. To get back to the Antonio Locatelli refuge you can take the footpath known as il Sentiero del Cappellano Hosp.

Monte Paterno (2,744 metres)

This via ferrata also requires a well-trained physique, climbing experience, strength and no aversion to heights. Yet again you have to get up to the Antonio Locatelli Refuge at a height of 2,450 metres. From the refuge you head down along a tunnel to reach the Camosci pass and the start of the via ferrata leading to the peak of Monte Paterno. In total it takes about an hour to travel up and down the via ferrata.
